Illini Tutoring has been such a positive experience for us. I had my son begin tutoring over the summer with hopes of building his confidence and helping him tackle difficult concepts with one-on-one instruction. He gained confidence and a thorough understanding of some challenging concepts. Coming from a smaller high school, my daughter found herself overwhelmed when it came to college chemistry. In a desperate search to find someone who could help, we found Illini Tutoring. Elizabeth and her team worked with her over the next three semesters to help her understand what she was missing in lecture and labs and get up to speed. We've also used Illini Tutoring this semester as well to get through calculus. Can't recommend Elizabeth and her team enough!

Our two Uni students have availed themselves of Illini Tutoring Services -- both for coursework and SAT/ACT prep. I have been impressed not only by the quality of service but by the broad-based educational philosophy undergirding the services. Elizabeth, in particular has taken the time to get to know my kids and to reflect on the particular challenges of the Uni math and science curriculum. These guys are pros -- this is not your regular tutoring service, but many cuts above.

My son Michael took another ACT class at [Champaign location] and we chose the class because the instructor had many years of experience in teaching. My son had a very generic review of everything on the test, and said the teacher emphasized "psyching out the competition on test day" by wearing bright shirts. After showing no improvement at all on the ACT, we turned elsewhere. I'm SO thankful we found Illini Tutoring and Taso's ACT class out at Parkland. Now this guy really knows what he's talking about. He talks about strategies, but really teaches the kids how to do the problems. Michael scored 5 points higher getting a 28 on the December ACT.

My son Elijah has been a student of Illini Tutoring since their inception. He is currently a Junior at Central. Elijah was a willing student, whom the concepts of math came slower than the rest of his classmates. Conversly, while he was receiving ISAT scores that reflected that he knew the concepts, his grades in middle school did not reflect the effort that he was putting into the process. This was not a criticism of his middle school math teachers, they did all they could to help him. We used a Illini starting in the 8th grade. Since then, his grades in accelerated math courses have been nothing less than a B. Two days ago, he took a re test after he spoke with Elizabeth. I asked him how the test went. He explained that he thought he did well, that she explained to him the concepts that had been missing in the classroom. In short, Illini tutoring has made the math experience for Elijah so easy. He is doing math that without their help would not have been possible. The staff at Illini tutoring have been nothing but exceptional over the years. The high school math experience for both parents and the students is stressful enough. Since starting with Illini Tutoring. I no longer worry about this math classes. When Elijah graduates in December, we will take his college math classes at Parkland, so that we can use the tutoring that has been so succesful for us over the past few years. Without hesitation my wife and I would recommend Illini tutoring for your students. Flexible hours, a willing to work with the teacher and the tutor, all make this a very enjoyable experience.

Elizabeth was a terrific tutor for our son (who worked with her preparing for the SAT). Elizabeth is very experienced and knowledgeable about the testing process, and has a calm manner that is of great help to parents and students facing a stressful situation.
