Illini Tutoring began with one tutor, then doubled in size to two tutors. Fast forward a few years, and now we are a team of tutors with a specific focus on helping students do better in school and prepare for college. After talking with students, parents, teachers, and school administrators in Champaign-Urbana, we realized just how great the need is for a college prep program in our community.
Tutoring
At the core of our services, we offer the highest quality math and science tutoring in our area. We strive to help students not just do better in their math and science classes, but to help them fill in gaps left by traditional classroom teaching. We help students get better grades, score higher on tests, and become independent learners and problem solvers.
Academic Coaching
Many of our students come to us not for specific tutoring needs, but because they need an academic coach to help them learn how to be more organized, self-reliant, and responsible.
Standardized Test Prep
We work with students to raise their ACT and SAT scores through classes and one-on-one tutoring. Our ACT prep director has worked with hundreds of students and has helped many raise their score by 4 points or more. Several students have even earned a perfect score.
These three elements combine to create the perfect college prep experience for our students. Some students utilize just one of our services, and other students use all three. Many students work with their tutors for several years. These students have gone on to prestigious universities and competitive programs across the nation, where they contact us and say, "I'm so much better prepared for college because of Illini Tutoring."
